Express entry is a process through which people can apply for permanent residence to come and live in Canada. Canada assesses people under this category based on their skills and how they can contribute to the Canadian economy and become economically established while doing that. There are three economic programs under which express entry applications are managed. The Federal Skilled Worker Program, The Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class Program.
Applicants who meet the requirements of any of the above-listed programs are placed in a pool, out of which candidates are selected every now and then based on their total points and be given an invitation to apply for a permanent residence to come to Canada. The provinces and territories in Canada also do have their own express entry system through which they select applicants to migrate into the individual provinces. These provinces and territories can also recruit from the federal pool of candidates with the required point system that is needed by the provinces and are given a nomination certificate to apply for permanent residence to migrate to the province.
A lot of factors are taken into consideration to assess the eligibility of candidates who apply under any of the programs listed. These factors are usually based on the applicant’s age, education, work experience either in Canada or outside Canada, English or French-speaking ability, how likely they are to settle in Canada or in the province that nominates them and many more.
